Ascend, creator of goal-setting software for empowering middle and high school students, presented at the LearnLaunch Across Boundaries Conference in Boston, MA on Thursday, January 30, 2020. The Across Boundaries Conference unites technology companies, educators, school administrators, students, and other stakeholders in the educational space to learn and share how technology can impact and improve education.
Co-Founder and COO Christine Nicodemus presented on the impact that goal-setting through Ascend is having on teen students in the Charlotte region and beyond. She also shared how the platform is giving educators, school administrators, and mentoring program directors the ability to track student progress and evaluate programming in an innovative way– through the lens of student goals and achievement.
Nicodemus was honored with the opportunity to speak to the LearnLaunch Across Boundaries audience after the organization hosted a pitch competition last fall. Ascend was one of two winners selected to present.
“It was amazing to be selected as a speaker for Across Boundaries, and I’m grateful for the opportunity it has given the team at Ascend to connect with leaders in the educational space who care deeply about student achievement,” said Nicodemus. “I was able to connect with so many people who are looking for new ways to connect with students and to make tracking student interests, goals, and successes easier for their staff and volunteers.”
Ascend is a student empowerment platform that enables schools and youth organizations to track student goals. Through Ascend’s gamified goal-setting app, students create goals and build social capital, and administrators easily report on outcomes. Ascend is proud to be a minority and woman-owned business and supports organizations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Texas, and beyond.
