Ascend has been accepted into the Innovate Charlotte Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) Program, based on the renowned program at MIT. Innovate Charlotte VMS selects innovation-driven companies in the Charlotte region with proven success.
Ascend was unanimously accepted into the Innovate Charlotte program after a thorough application and interview process. The EdTech startup will soon be paired with mentors and a broad network of Charlotte entrepreneurial experts that will support Ascend in its growth in the Charlotte region and beyond.
“Our goal is to bring our platform to more students, parents, and educators across the country. Our proven success in the Charlotte region, in addition to communities in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, has given students the motivation they need to improve their academic and behavioral performance,” said founder Reg Gabriel.
The Ascend platform was founded on the idea that goal-setting, task management, and relationships and social connections all play a large part in student success. Ascend has helped students improve their GPA and become more engaged in their progress. The Ascend team hopes to work with the Innovate Charlotte mentors to help them broaden the distribution of the Ascend platform across the country, and internationally.
